Stunning Beach & Field Senior Photos in Orange County | Sienna
Sienna’s session took place in July, which if you ask me, is one of the best times of year for senior photos in Orange County. Golden tans, warm weather, and little-to-no stress with no homework or college decisions on the table yet… what could be better? It’s the perfect window to slow down and savor this moment.
She opted for our all-inclusive package — the ideal experience for seniors and parents who want to go all out during this special milestone season. From a fully retouched image gallery to premium artwork and a custom-designed signature senior photo album, Sienna’s family invested in preserving this moment to the fullest. What I loved most, though, was how she balanced her luxury selection with effortless simplicity. She chose just two outfits — one for the field and one for the beach —proof that sometimes, less really is more!
Her sweet mom, Tenley, joined us for the shoot, and the two of them were a joy to work with. I always encourage parents to be a part of the session, and Sienna’s photos are a perfect example of how having your best cheerleader there can create such a relaxed, joyful atmosphere. Of course, every family dynamic is different, which is why I always recommend that parents talk with their senior beforehand about what will help them feel most comfortable and confident.. In many cases, seniors are more at ease in front of the camera when they can truly be themselves — no audience, no pressure. After all, there’s truth in the saying, “dance like no one’s watching!”
The combination of field and beach is really popular for senior photos, and for good reason –- it's balanced, visually interesting, and provides lots of backdrop options. One of the best things about Orange County is how easily you can have both! There are several nature (or “woodsy”) options and several beach options to choose from, so we can find you something either super classic or search for a hidden gem. My family grew up surfing these beaches every weekend, so every time I photograph here, it feels a little like coming home — and I love sharing that with my clients.
Rocking cowboy boots in her field shots and a beautiful maxi dress on the beach, Sienna made each look her own — and the camera loved her for it. The movement of her dress was exactly what I encourage when seniors choose their outfits: moving, flowy fabric adds life, texture, and dimension to each image. Another fun and different pose for beach senior photos is sitting in the water. Not everyone wants to sit in the sand or dip their toes, but for those who are up for it, the result is always stunning. Even a gentle splash or a walk along the shoreline can be the perfect way to wrap up the session.
What made Sienna’s session so special was how effortlessly herself she was — sweet, grounded, and fully trusting of my direction. My goal with every senior I photograph is to capture their natural essence — whether they’re naturally outgoing, or a bit more reserved. By the end of each session, I want them to feel most fully themselves… and to almost forget the camera is even there.
Remember: you don’t have to be something you’re not to get great photos — you just have to show up as you!
